Kielder Water - Less than an hours drive takes you to the largest man-made lake in Europe and one of Britain's biggest nature resorts, home to red squirrels, deer and rare birds.  Near to Kielder Castle is Purple Mountain Bike Hire Centre which provides for all cycling needs and gives access to cycle trails suitable for anything from gentle family cycling to the challenging single track of Deadwater and the Castlewood Skills park for the adrenaline junkies.
